Chronic Illness

I help people seeking a diagnosis or living with a chronic illness to explore how to live their new life.

You may feel tired of fighting a system designed to not help you. Perhaps you have experienced gate keeping GPs, being referred to non-specialists or the wrong specialists, or have been going round in circles with no-one helping you. Not being believed, not being heard, facing sexism, the gender pain gap, and not being given all the options for treatment – the exhaustion is real. The pain is also real. It’s not all in your head.

It might feel frightening having to go through tests. Perhaps they’re invasive, some might have been offered without appropriate (or any) pain relief, and you might wonder whether you agreed to the tests or were simply not given other options.

Then you might have been left with little to no help and years’ long waiting lists for treatment. You might feel like no-one cares and no-one, not even the people you love, understand.

Perhaps you find yourself grieving a life you’ll never get back and the years you lost while fighting to be helped. You know your body, you just wish someone listened before it got as bad as it did.

I work with anyone who has, or thinks they have, a chronic illness and have a special interest in endometriosis, PCOS / PMOS, and fibroids.

I offer adjustments where possible, including a room to work in person on Wednesday afternoons which is fully wheelchair accessible and moving sessions to online at late notice if symptoms are more challenging on a session day. I am happy to explore adjustments when we discuss working together to see what might be possible.
